Illikkal Kallu, Kerala – Incredible Tourist Spot

Here you can see a group of three hills namely Illickal Mala, Illickal Kallu and Mankallu Mudikal, each rising to more than 4000 feet above the sea level. It is very dangerous to climb on hills. Watching from the safe place will be good. Climb on hills only if you are trained for that. We can see even the Arabian sea from the hills, also sun rise and sun set.

Climate:

Climate in Illikkal Kallu is pleasent. Normal temperature is in day time, but on evening mist will fill the atmosphere and you can enjoy the cold.

How to reach :

If you are coming from Kottayam:

Kottayam -> Moonilavu ->

Mankompu Temple -> Pazhukakaanam -> Illikal Kallu

Total Distance : 51 KM

This will be the good way if you are coming from Kottayam. You can come in your private vehicle only near to Pazhukkakaanam. After it is Jeep road. You can arrange Jeep from their if needed. Otherwise you need to enjoy the real treking, that is walking. But you will satisfy when you feel the real beauty of Illikal Kallu.

If you are coming from Thodupuzha:

Thodupuzha -> Muttom -> Kanjiram Kavala ->

Nellappara -> Pazhukkakaanam

Total Distance : 31 KM

Accommodation:

Actually it is a hill station, but you will not get sufficient facilities there. It is a developing tourism spot. Now Government understood the    tourism possibilities of Illikkal Kallu and took certain decisions. Let us wait for it.
